About

I’m driven by a fascination with how technology, business, and politics intersect to shape our world. My journey has been about uncovering geopolitical trends that hold lasting impact, sometimes before they are widely recognised - I was among a small group in the business community who anticipated the global populist surge and what that would mean for global business. I was also one of the first to identify the potential impact of growing geopolitical tensions, notably between the US and China. I firmly believe that being able to navigate uncertainty is one of the most important skills for a modern business leader, bringing with it the ability to spot opportunity early, as well as to identify risk.

As a strategist and author, I’ve contributed to discussions on ‘Levelling Up’ and tackling regional inequality and advised executives on the reskilling and employment implications of AI and emerging technologies. The New Statesman called me “one of our most prescient writers,” but my focus is always on helping others navigate challenges, anticipate regulatory shifts, and seize opportunities.

Experience

Before establishing Artemon Strategy, David Skelton held global policy strategy roles, including at Google, where he raised early awareness of the tech backlash. He has deep expertise in geopolitical and regulatory risk and uses foresight capabilities to guide leaders through uncertainty. David’s work has shaped UK business and policy, and his books explore how technology can address socio-economic inequalities.
